Subject: Alsadiq Siddiq Adam
Abdullah - kidnapped - UAE
Name: "Nicholas Febrer"
Dear sirs,
I wish to update you about a
disappearance/kidnapping in the UAE.
I am a UK human rights lawyer that
represents the victim and his
family.
In short, a young British resident (Alsadiq)
/Sudanese national has been
kidnapped in UAE. The evidence
suggests to us (see also amnesty
international’s urgent alert below)
that elements of the state in UAE
are involved.
Background info:
· The Attorney General and the
Minister of Interior in Abu Dhabi
have confirmed the following:
· Alsadiq entered Abu Dhabi on 23
September (there is no record of his
departure).
· Alsadiq is not being held in the
UAE prison or police system and nor
is he in any medical establishment.
· Alsadiq has not committed any
criminal offence in the UAE.
· Alsadiq was arrested (under an
arrest warrant dated 28 July
obtained pursuant to a complaint
made against him and his father by
two unknown police officers) on 23
September and released in 25
September.
· On 8 November the Abu Dhabi
Attorney General confirmed the 28
July arrest warrant was irregular
and revoked it (it was clear this
concocted complaint/ arrest warrant
was a sham used by the kidnappers to
entrap Alsadiq).
· Alsadiq has infrequently been
permitted by his kidnappers to
telephone his family on his
UK/Sudanese mobile phone – during
which he confirmed he had been
kidnapped and was in fear of his
life. The records of these calls
prove he is located in UAE. Such
calls confirmed Alsadiq was held
against his will (his kidnappers
have been heard in the background
telling him what to say).
· The family petitioned the Abu
Dhabi police to investigate the
kidnapping on 18 November. To date,
the main suspects, with connections
to the police and Ministry of
Interior in Abu Dhabi have not ever
been questioned by the police. The
UAE Embassy in London has been
uncooperative with the family’s
lawyers and refused to certify
documentation or reply to
correspondence.
· On 17 January, Amnesty
International issued an urgent
appeal for Alsadiq (see http://www.amnesty.org/en/alfresco_asset/d6389a50-c5ad-11dc-a9b5-492269ca2e38/mde250012008eng.html
)
· David Anderson MP & Gordon Brown
at Prime Minister’s questions on the
12th Dec 2007
· Mr. David Anderson (Blaydon): Will
the Prime Minister make contact with
the authorities in the United Arab
Emirates to ask about the
whereabouts of Alsadiq Abdullah, who
disappeared on 23 September 2007 and
has not been seen since?
· The Prime Minister: I understand
that the constituent to whom my
hon.Friend refers is a British
business man, but he has Sudanese
nationality. It is a matter for the
Sudanese to put pressure on that
Government. I believe that that is
happening, and we will support the
Sudanese in anything they do.
Demo : About 300 Darfuri supporters
held a demo outside the UAE embassy
(London) on Saturday 17th January.
This was not just because Alsadiq is
Darfuri but because his father is
one of the main humanitarians in
Darfur and heavy influential in the
peace process. they handed the
attached letter to the UAE
ambassador.

the following letter to sheikh
Khalifa has been signed by some of
his high profile supporters
<<His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin
Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

As a prestigious human rights group,
we look to you to use your influence
to help the family seek the safe
return of their son. As with
amnesty, we hope you will similarly
raise the issue through any public
alert system you have or the media.
I look forwards to speaking with
you.
